SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Adam Johnson remembers feeling helpless seven months ago when his daily walk turned into an ambulance ride. “I was out in the backyard walking [my dog] Eggs on a break from work and I could start feeling it, you know, around my chest. I could start feeling some pain,” Johnson said.  When Johnson’s pain got worse, he was rushed to Mercy Springfield, where his heart stopped in the Emergency Room before it was restarted.  What happened this week in Springfield 100 years ago? August 6-12 “I've seen the pictures of my heart already where it just looks like someone just quenched it and just closed it up tightly,” Johnson said.  Dealing with cardiac arrest and more, the Mercy team responded. “We got his heart started back up. We did CPR, [got him] intubated,” Dr. Andrea Spangler said.  “He coded, lost his pulse in the emergency room,” Dr. Adnan Alexander Kassier said. “Had this have happened outside the emergency room, the chance of surviv...

Kiszla: After losing faith of Broncos Country, this is Russell Wilson’s biggest preseason game since 2012

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 19:29:54 GMT

We pray Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson isn’t washed up.Please, can the football gods give us a sign?“Every time you step between the white lines, it’s a gift. That’s how I look at it,” said Wilson, looking forward to taking his first preseason snaps with new coach Sean Payton when Denver travels to Arizona for an exhibition game Friday night. “It’s a gift to play the game that we all love and God has granted us the ability to play.”Although he has shaken the confidence of Broncos Country to the core, Wilson preaches nothing but optimism. But we will take nothing on faith. After an abysmal debut season in Denver, when Wilson stunk and the Broncos finished 5-12, now we will find out if all that putridness really was all the fault of that knucklehead Nathaniel Hackett.Or is Denver doomed to an eighth straight season of missing the NFL playoffs because it’s tied to a 34-year-old quarterback who has slimmed down, but hasn’t surrendered any of the money in his big, fat contract? The sill...
