Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 00:05:38 GMT

TEXAS (NEXSTAR) — During the warmer months, you may have found yourself out to eat. Maybe you even sat on the patio, enjoying the warm moments before they faded into the chill of winter. There is also a pretty good chance you had a cold drink in hand, according to a new report. Toast, a restaurant point of sale and management system, recently reviewed customer trends across its roughly 93,000 U.S. restaurants, including people’s alcohol-purchasing behaviors. Overall, Toast found that if a customer was ordering alcohol, it was most likely going to be beer, which ranked as the most popular adult beverage being ordered in all 50 states during the second quarter of 2023. Restaurant-goers in Texas consumed the most tequila, Toast found. Other southern states — Georgia, Arizona, and Florida — also consumed high amounts of tequila. It’s not surprising Texans choose tequila as their liquor of c...

The Gophers football team has had its hands full with four of the five teams it has played so far this season.Minnesota improved to 3-2 overall with a comeback 35-24 victory over Louisiana on Saturday, and its strength of schedule to date ranks 72nd in the nation, according to ESPN.It pales in comparison to what is yet to come for Minnesota. The Gophers’ remaining seven games check in as the nation’s 12th-most-difficult schedule, per ESPN, and October kicks off with arguably the toughest team they will play all year, second-ranked Michigan at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Huntington Bank Stadium.Instead of “challenging” or “daunting,” Gophers head coach P.J. Fleck has opted to use the word “opportunistic” when describing a slate which also includes Ohio State and arch rivals Iowa and Wisconsin. The new zero-bail policy takes effect in L.A. County on Sunday, despite the objections of many law enforcement and civic leaders who say the policy will undermine efforts to fight crime. The policy allows some criminal suspects accused of non-violent or non-serious crimes to be cited and released when they would have previously been held on bond. A decision was made in July by the Los Angeles County Superior Court to institute the system, arguing that cash bail discriminates against minorities and the poor.
