When you win a national title, you get a special treat.For Washington County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Huck, who won first place at the U.S. Police Canine Association national field trials last month in Foley, Ala., that meant a big batch of beef jerky.“It had to be something that would sit well in his stomach,” said Deputy Brandon Yetter, Huck’s handler. “He deserved it.”After several days of competition Sept. 17-21, Yetter and Huck emerged as the nation’s top K-9/handler duo with a score of 636.23 out of 640, or 99.4 percent. This was their first year competing in the national competition.The duo, along with Deputy Nate Thienes and K-9 Goose, Deputy Josh Liebenow and K-9 Viking and Deputy Chris Majeski and K-9 Jake, also won first place in the team competition, beating out nine other teams. COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) — When there was a halt in cannabis retail licenses, that left many suppliers wondering whether or not there would be enough demand for their supply, but now that applications have resumed, Sugarhouse Farms is prepared to roll out their harvest to retailers. For the last five days, the farm has been busy harvesting.“It’s really exciting for us because that’s the finish line,” Jake Davis, Lead Cultivator for Sugarhouse Farms, said. “It’s what we’re here for. A man is being sought after being seen on video ramming an elderly and disabled man with a shopping cart in Santa Ana last month.The incident occurred Sept. 19 in the 1400 block of West Edinger Avenue as the victim was making his way to the gym in a shopping plaza, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.The suspect, who was panhandling, apparently asked the victim for money. OAKLAND — Three possible shooting suspects were arrested Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle pursuit that started in East Oakland, went out to Contra Costa County and ended with a crash back in Oakland on Highway 24 near the Telegraph Avenue off-ramp, authorities said.The trio fled from the vehicle after the crash. One was arrested on the freeway and the other two after a search of yards on city streets near the off-ramp.Police said the male suspects were spotted around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday in a vehicle in the 7200 block of Fresno Street in East Oakland. (KRON) -- A porch pirate raided several homes' front yards and doorsteps around Pittsburg this week and police are asking for the public's help to identify him. The man was recently recorded on one house's surveillance cameras grabbing a skeleton. D.C. residents have voted on a new name for the intersection of Florida Avenue and New York Avenue NE in the NoMa neighborhood — which is undergoing major renovations to house new public spaces — Mayor Muriel Bowser announced Wednesday.The intersection, which was previously known unofficially as “Dave Thomas Circle,” will now be called “Mamie ‘Peanut’ Johnson Plaza,” after the first female pitcher to play in the African American baseball league.
